When we embrace the True Nature of God, our decision making process will change as well. We cannot have a true encounter with God and expect our thinking will go unchanged. As we see things differently, our reason for doing things will alter because our motive will filter though love. When you come to accept God is Love and He absolutely loves you, you will grow in confidence with Him. How does this affect our decisions? For one, as we realize that Father God is actually cheering us on, we dispel any belief that opposes that Truth. Jeremiah 23:29 Is not My Word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces (KJV)? Truth works like a hammer that chips away falsehood and tears down strongholds. The more we accept the Word of God as absolute Truth (see John 17:17), the bigger the Hammer becomes. It will move from chipping away to taking out entire mountains in a single blow. If God is cheering you on, what does that mean? He wants you to succeed!
For some, this is a very difficult thing to grasp. For those who struggle with this Truth, lets begin with the basics. You say you donāt feel worthy. How do you become worthy? How do you become righteous? You donāt, because you cannot do what Jesus already did. If you are in Christ Jesus, you are already righteous before God (see 2 Corinthians 5:17, 21). His righteousness is our righteousness. He made it a gift unto us. Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ (KJV). Because Father wants you to succeed, He provided the Way for you to do just that! That means He already squared away the worthiness issue. He is more interested in His relationship with us than us trying to follow a bunch of rules. You cannot earn is His love.
As you realize that God is not opposed to you, you should also realize that He is not opposed to your success in life. The more we involve Him in our decisions, the more right decisions we will make. When people do not invite God into the process and the process fails to yield good result, they cannot honestly blame God. Nonetheless, many still do. The question now comes to this: what is a right decision? Is it what we think is right or is it what God says is right? As the goal is to align with what is right in His eyes, keep in mind that He did not take away our right to decide. However, He often gives us better choices from which to choose.
The difficulty lies with carnal thoughts colliding with godly thinking. The older a person is before coming to Christ, the truer the following statement may be. Because of having a worldly perspective for a major portion of oneās life, a godly one can appear foreign. Godās thinking seems upside down, even though He is our Creator Who knows best. When we come into His Kingdom, we have to unlearn what we āknew to be true.ā When darkness was our light, Truth appeared to be falsehood. Evil was good and good was evil in our sight. How many scoffed at believers in Christ before coming to Him? How many ridiculed them for acting like āgoody-two-shoes?ā Though some may have thought they never called good, evil, they actually did. Even now, some struggle as believers when they see othersā good works. They appear to be self-righteous. Granted, there are times people actually do act out of self-righteousness; but for many, they are doing the best they know how. That is another subject matter for another time. The question is: who is being self-righteous in this scenario? Can we applaud our brothers and sisters when they do well? Can we honor one another in a way that is pleasing to Father? The way we decide to treat others will greatly depend on the way we think.
As we journey forward with God, we will find He is trustworthy. As He leads us in our decisions, we find that He really does have our best interests at heart. There may be times it appears that He is leading us in the wrong direction. That is when we cannot afford to lean our own understanding. The more we embrace His true nature, the more right decisions we will make. As long as some hold to their old opinions about God, the less they will trust Him. Unfortunately, they will never be totally pleased with the results of their decisions. Proverbs 3:5-12 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the Lord loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth (KJV).
