Hatred Will Fail

By October 11, 2020No Comments

It could be easy to become discouraged over the amount of hatred in the world. But don’t lose heart, hatred will ultimately fail and come to an end. It has no eternal value, nor will it ever overcome love. Anything contrary to the nature of God will eventually cease to exist. Even Scripture talks of dramatic changes coming our way. 2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Revelation 21:1,4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Granted, that may seem far off, but we really don’t know the day or the hour when Jesus comes to get His Bride. Moreover, there is more love than hate, even if the media would have us believe otherwise. We are made in the image of God, and we know God is love. Even though many are out of alignment with their design, His love still has an effect. There are millions of people who don’t know Jesus, but those millions are not running around killing each other. To be sure, there are thousands of criminal acts taking place every day, and a number of them are motivated by hatred. Notwithstanding, they are still the minority. Hatred is taught; it’s not innate. You can see this principle played out with toddlers and young children. They don’t hate anyone; unless, they’re taught otherwise. Love is all they know.
Can hatred be mitigated? Absolutely! This is where the disciples of Jesus Christ come into the picture. As we obey the Great Commission, it gets quelled more and more as each person receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. As they come into their new nature, hatred loses its place in them. 1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him (read the entirety of 1 John).
Remember this very important truth: Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8)!
