The Importance Of The Blood (Part One)

By December 18, 2011No Comments

Our life is found in the blood. This is true in both the physical realm and the spiritual realm. Without the flow of blood in the body, the body would die. Without the shed Blood of Jesus Christ, we would still be dead in our sins. The life of man is found in the blood, and the life of the New Man is found in the Blood of Jesus. Our life begins with flowing blood, and our new life begins with the shed Blood that flowed from the Cross.

Blood is the required sacrifice for sin. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins (see Hebrews 9:22). Where there is remission, there is no sin. Where there is no sin, there is innocence. In order for us to be considered innocent before God the blood has to be pure. Remission requires uncontaminated blood, and that Blood belongs to Jesus. Before the fall, the blood of man was pure, but when sin came into the heart of man, the blood became contaminated. The New Man is created in righteousness and true holiness (see Ephesians 4:24). The New Man has a heart which courses with the pure Blood, which flows from the True Bloodline that makes us the sons and daughters of God. We are sanctified by the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It is through the Holy Spirit that we have been given the New Man, in which a clean heart has been seated.

It was through the Eternal Spirit that Jesus offered the perfect sacrifice (see Hebrews 9:14). As the Son of man, Jesus was led by the Spirit. It was the Holy Spirit Who led Him into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil, and led Him to the Cross where He died. It was the Spirit Who raised Jesus from the dead, and if that same Spirit dwells in us, He will quicken our mortal bodies as well (see Romans 8:11). Indeed, we are risen with Christ Jesus. God the Father sent the Son, and it was through the Son the Holy Spirit came -Oh, blessed Trinity! Those who are led by the Spirit are the sons and daughters of God (see Romans 8:14). Think about this: the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary so that Jesus could be born in the flesh in order to die and resurrect that we might be born of the Spirit in order to live eternally. All of which flows in the Blood.
