God and a Cornfield

By September 27, 2020No Comments

We can learn something about God from a cornfield. When looking at cornfield as a whole, a single kernel of corn might appear insignificant to us; but, not so much for God. To Him, the cornfield would be incomplete without it. So, how does this apply to us? In His view, because He loves you so much, the vastness of humanity would be incomplete without you!
What would happen, if each of us would hold that same view? Let’s get honest: how many of us have looked at some people as if they’re subhuman, pieces of trash even? How many do we fail to acknowledge because they don’t believe, think or act like us? Some of this is prevalent in the Body of Christ. How many so called Christians turn their backs on one another because they’re not of the same denomination or “stream” as some would call it? How many look down on the one who’s not “walking in the power of Holy Spirit?” What about the one who doesn’t smell so good sitting next us in a pew? Is this Christ-like?
James 2:1-4 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
Yes, these are tough questions, but it might answer the one question many ask: “Why aren’t we seeing God moving in the Church like we read about in the Bible? Many point to compromise in relation to that question. Perhaps, the biggest compromise is our lack of love for one another, along with the absence of compassion. The Church’s lack of influence in society is our lack of love. Think about it! If we truly love God with all our entire being, wouldn’t we obey Him and put away the compromise? If we truly loved one another as Jesus said, the world would know for certain God sent Him into the world. Love results in obedience.
John 17:20-26 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me. And the glory which Thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are one: I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me. Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory, which Thou hast given Me: for Thou lovedst Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world hath not known Thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that Thou hast sent Me. And I have declared unto them Thy Name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
